About The Turquoise Spider
The turquoise spider is located at 323 Main Street in the historic mining town of Jerome Arizona. Jerome is located in central Arizona on the side of Mingus Mountain at the altitude of approximately 5300 ft. At one time Jerome was the largest copper producing mine in the world. At it's peak Jerome was the second largest city in Arizona with a population of over 15,000 residents. After the mines closed down in the 1950's the population dwindled to less than 50 residents becoming America's most famous Ghost town. Starting in the 1960's and 1970's artists and other free spirits started settling back in the town. Today Jerome has become a bustling town full of art studios and shops and is considered one of the top tourist attractions in the state behind the Grand Canyon and Sedona.
